One of my goals this year has been to be more creative. I’ve always loved art and doodling and creating in general so when I found the 100 day project I knew I wanted to join in. The idea is to commit to making (something, anything!) for 100 days. It’s all about the process and not necessarily about getting to a finished product which I love because it makes the whole thing a lot less intimidating. My goal was to commit to 100 days of doodles and to share each of them on Instagram. Any medium, any subject just putting pen/brush/whatever to paper with no big expectations for the outcome. It has been so SO great. This feels like scratching an itch that has been nagging me for a long time. I haven’t missed a single day and I actually look forward to my time to doodle every day.
To get me started I’ve also been following a fun little challenge on Instagram via My Friend Court that gives a prompt for each day of the month and everyone kind of just interprets it however they like. It’s really fun to see how people translate things differently and it’s been helpful to have a little inspiration to get me going. The prompts for the images at top were: vines, melon, plants, lips, bullseye, lines, swirls, bugs and spots.
Anyways, I’m excited and I wanted to share because I feel like I’ve found something that’s been missing. I’m even considering extending the project until my (30th!!) birthday in September which oddly enough would make it an even 150 days.
